Day 17!

Hello again! For day seventeen of Diamine Inkvent, we have Lavender Frost.

The color/properties:

Lavender Frost is another shimmering ink. It has bright silver particulates, but I’ve noticed that in some lighting, they have an almost prismatic appearance, as if there are traces of blue and pink in the mix. The base color is, as described by the name, a cool lavender. It shades crisply with a medium amount of contrast between its tones, and overall, the combination of the color and the particulates make this ink look especially cool and wintry. The color is pale, but it’s dark enough to be easily readable on the page.

How did it perform?

Lavender Frost performs well. It has a medium-wet flow and I didn’t experience any clogs or hard starts during my tests. The ink felt well-lubricated and offered a pleasant writing experience across each of the test nibs. The shimmer distribution was excellent and didn’t require a lot of agitation to keep it flowing. I didn’t see any feathering or bleeding on the test sheets, and cleaning the pen out was a breeze. There wasn’t any leftover color or shimmer in the pen, or the test nibs, after a basic flush and soak cycle, and there wasn’t any residue or haze left along the inside walls or piston.

My personal thoughts…

I’m so happy to say that Lavender Frost lived up to my high hopes and expectations. It’s the kind of cool and wintry color that I hope to get out of Diamine’s Inkvent collection. The name doesn’t appear to refer to anything in particular, but it does call to mind the muted tones and soft light of a quiet, snowy evening.
